CAUTION: SOCIAL MEDIA PITFALLS AHEAD

Do not let all the hard work you put into social media marketing end up working against you. Social media can force customers away just as easy as it can pull them towards you. There is nothing more annoying than a company that overly promotes. Put yourself in the shoes of the customer, how would you feel if every time you went on your favorite social media site someone bombarded you with nothing but ads and products.  Connect with your customer and take this chance to see what they want, communicate with them. Do not run from negative comments or reactions by attempting to delete them. Either respond or try to find a solution if not let it be… their will always be people who will not like something you do.

The last and possibly most important thing to remember is to stay consistent and detailed in your work. At times it may seem difficult to dedicate time to social media but consistency is the key, you do not want to be forgotten and have all the work you have done be for nothing. The attention span of a social media user is short, meaning they will easily move on if you are not giving them what they want on a regular basis. Make sure to put aside some time each day to update your social media. Do not forget to proofread as I am about to do as soon as I am done writing this. Nothing pushes a potential follower away more than finding mistakes while reading something that should be coming from a professional and believe me web goers are always looking for mistakes.
